The Opportunity

Innocept is searching for an energetic and driven Development Assistant to support our company’s highly productive development team operating from both our Calgary and Kelowna offices. This role is ideal for someone with real estate project and/or development experience looking to broaden their development knowledge.

 

Who You Are

You enjoy a fast-paced dynamic environment, are passionate about real estate development, and are proactive and a natural problem solver.

You are well-organized, self-motivated, and have impeccable time management skills. You have strong computer skills such as proficiency with email management systems, word processing & spreadsheets, internet research, database input and administration, general office administration and are comfortable operating in a paperless work environment. You want to contribute to the efficiency of Innocept's high performance environment by being accretive to the business with effective and timely support to the team and our operations.

Innocept Real Estate and Outsourcing Ltd. is a full-service boutique real estate and development firm, specializing in Project Development, Project Management, Program Management, Construction Management, Tenant Representation and Real Estate Consulting. Innocept’s dynamic and innovative team is passionate about creating value for our clients and investors. Throughout Innocept’s 28 successful years of service we have worked with companies such as Canadian Tire, Mark’s, Sport Chek, Gold’s Gym, The Calgary Winter Club, Le Germain and WestJet. In the last 6 years we have also pursued opportunities to lead our own real estate development projects such as the completion of of the condominium development in Kelowna known as the Stockwell with the second development, St. Paul being close to completion as well. Our development projects and client mandates are unique and interesting. Although we continue to work with various clients and executing national mandates, Innocept operates primarily in Western Canada, with offices in Calgary and Kelowna. We have a core team of 7 to 10 employees and an extended team of dedicated consultants that we work with on a regular basis.

Qualifications
  • Hard working, disciplined, proactive self starter working on multipe projects through to completion while maintaining a strong attention to detail

  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Maintain a high degree of discretion and confidentiality

  • Basic understanding of zoning matters, re-zoning, and development practices

     

Related Experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience in real estate development, construction management, or a combination of both

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in Business, Urban Planning, Economics, Architecture, or related field

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Apple Operating Systems

     

Responsibilities
  • Support our Development Team with the preparation of correspondence, presentations, reports, spreadsheets, request for proposals, consultant agreements

  • Work within Innocept’s proprietary task management system and processes

  • Meeting coordination, including scheduling, preparation of agendas and presentation materials, taking

    meeting minutes, distributing to the team, and following up on action items

  • Record keeping and timely organization of project files on the company server

  • Gather and manage data collection which includes conducting necessary research from the web

  • Communication and general follow up as required with municipalities, our clients, consultants and other stakeholders

  • Attending daily and weekly development team meetings as required

  • Focusing on due diligence, market research, pre-development analysis, design, and municipal approval

    cycles

  • Travel within BC and/or to the AB office may be required
